Wisconsin Future Business Leaders of America

HelState President Picturelo, Wisconsin FBLA!

It was great to see so many of you at one of our three Fall Leadership Labs held across the state in Eau Claire, Appleton, and Madison. Keynote speaker Shannon Oleen gave great advice on being true to ourselves and making our own personal brand. We also held workshops on the Business Achievement Awards & Personal Development, and the Community Service & the Community Service Awards. Overall, members had a great time and enjoyed their experiences at all the lab locations.

Coming up this month is the National Fall Leadership Conference in Minneapolis, MN. Iowa FBLA is hosting this conference, and it is an experience for members from many states in our region. Workshops will be hosted by businesses from within the region, as well as by state officers and their advisers. Tours will also be available to the surrounding areas for attendees.

Over the next few months you will be hearing about the CTSO Collaborative Community Service Project. This is a competitive program, and Chapters can submit a proposal for a design decal to raise awareness about the dangers of texting and driving, and to remind students to put away their phones before they drive. Each proposal will be scored by professionals in the area of Teen Traffic Safety. Funding of up to $500 will be offered based on the strength of the proposal.

Project proposals must be submitted to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/267RG37 before November 21st to be considered. Chapters must then complete the project as proposed between December 1, 2014 and February 10, 2015, and submit the final report and funding form by February 11, 2015. If you have questions or need additional information, please email crossroadsteendriving@chw.org, or contact a State Officer. Full details can be found on this flyer.
